Lead a High-Energy Kitchen as Our Chef in Ridgefield:

Bring your culinary leadership, creativity, and passion for great American food to Black Cat Grille. As our Chef, you will have a meaningful opportunity to shape daily specials, uphold exceptional food quality, and guide a collaborative kitchen team in a welcoming casual-dining environment. This is an ideal role for an experienced Head Chef, Executive Chef, Kitchen Manager, or hands-on Culinary Manager who enjoys leading from the line while building a kitchen culture centered on pride, consistency, and teamwork.

What You Will Do:

• Lead daily kitchen operations, supporting cooks and team members with clear direction, positive coaching, and hands-on culinary expertise.
• Create appealing specials and contribute to menu planning that complements our American cuisine, including burgers, sandwiches, salads, and entrees.
• Maintain consistently high standards for food preparation, flavor, presentation, portion control, and quality of service.
• Manage kitchen inventory, ordering, stocking, and food cost awareness to keep operations organized and efficient.
• Prepare and cook menu items using strong grilling, fryer, baking, knife, and line-cooking skills during busy service periods.
• Promote a clean, safe kitchen by following sanitation, food safety, and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point practices.

What You Bring:

• You have professional cooking experience and the confidence to lead a restaurant kitchen in a fast-paced, guest-focused setting.
• You understand menu planning, food quality management, portion control, and inventory practices that support a successful operation.
• You bring strong food handling and sanitation knowledge, with the ability to maintain safe, organized work areas.
• You are a dependable team leader who communicates well, stays calm under pressure, and willingly supports colleagues where needed.
• You can consistently execute quality food preparation, from grilling and frying to baking and plated entrée production.

Preferred Qualifications:

• ServSafe certification or comparable food safety training is preferred and will help you succeed in this role.
• Experience with catering, food and beverage management, merchandising, or kitchen cost control is a valuable plus.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Earn an annual salary of $50,000 to $90,000, based on your experience, culinary leadership, and qualifications.
